Chelmsford City 7 – 0 Basildon United
City dominated the opening 45 minutes of Sunday’s match, forcing visitors to defend for long periods.
But they only had Kerri Binks’ goal to show for their efforts at half time.
The second half saw City’s excellent work rate and clinical finishing see them net a further six goals.
Paula Drane made it 2-0 before Emma Wells extended the lead with a bending shot into the net.
Shirley Cole scored the fourth City goal following good work from Lucy Garrett and Emma Ridings.
Drane then scored her second goal with a trademark corner and Sharon Brownlie added to the tally with a shot from the edge of the box.
Ridings rounded off the scoring with a deserved goal, powering home a header to round off a pleasing performance for the City managerment team.
