Mulbarton Belles 0 – 3 Chelmsford City
CHELMSFORD City cruised to their second successive win on Sunday, as two goals from Emma Ridings and one from Sharon Brownlie secured a straightforward victory on a cold afternoon in Norfolk.
City went ahead on 25minutes, Zoe Taylor’s cross being met with precision by Sharon Brownlie, who fired the ball into the net.
By half-time the visitors had doubled their lead courtesy of an Emma Ridings strike, which allowed room for Sarah Jolly to make way for Ashleigh Harding up front.
Chelmsford’s dominance continued throughout the second half, with the home side having only a handful of chances, and these were well dealt with by the City back four and goalkeeper Kerri Binks.
Ridings netted again to make it 3 – 0, and it would have been a larger margin of victory, but for Mulbarton goalkeeper, Eva Buhler, who made several outstanding saves.
This Sunday sees City face arguably their toughest test of the season to date, as they host top of the league Stanway.
Kick-off will be 2pm at Barnston AFC.
