Division One East
Sunday 4th December 2005
Chelmsford City 0 – 1 King’s Lynn
CITY felt that they were robbed of a valuable three points on Sunday, as they were beaten by a physical King’s Lynn side after an excellent display of football.
The home side dominated the first half, but on 20 minutes Lynn scored against the run of play, their speedy forward bursting through the City defence and slotting the ball past goalkeeper Carly Waters.
City were forced into making a change 15 minutes into the second half, with Zoe Taylor, who suffered a nasty head injury, being replaced by Vanessa Smith.
The home team continued to pressure the Norfolk opponents for the remainder of the game, with some brave defending keeping out their imposing strikers, and at the other end City went close to levelling the score on a number of occasions.
Buy they could not find the finishing touches and the score remained at 1 – 0 until the final whistle.
This Sunday sees City entertain Arseley Town in the second round of the League Cup, Kick off 1.30pm at Barnston AFC in High Easter Road, Barnston.
