Charter Standard Tournament 2nd Game
Runwell Hospital Ladies FC 0 - 6 Chelmsford City
City fired up after their first game started and a early attack from the hard
working Runwell. A Brown shot rattled the bar and a Garrett follow up went wide.
A great bit of passing followed from Bell, Brownlie, Garrett and Ridings on to
Brown who's shot was just over. Pavett who slotted comfortably into the midfield
with Brownlie took another shot from 35 yards out to score another accurately
placed goal. Minutes later she was on the attack again and a Garrett corner
cleared by Runwell with a quick reacting Pavett following up and smash the ball
into the net. Runwell continued to battle and their fine effort was saved by
Topper. A debut for Tara Britton who intervened with a crucial tackle sending
the ball up to Pavett who set Wheeler up but her shot was saved by the keeper.
Further efforts from the hard working Brown and Ridings who's hard work was paid
off with a Wheeler cross and Ridings converted with a calmly taken goal. Taylor
made a devastating run through the Runwell midfield and cut in past the defence
and was unfortunate not to score. A rare bit of Brownlie showboating provided
Wells with a ball which was coolly put in the net by the hard working winger.
Nelson got in on the score sheet with a fine goal. Wells was again rewarded for
her hard work with another very coolly taken goal. 6-0 City.
