CHELMSFORD CITY 1 – 3 EAST THURROCK UNITED

Sunday’s match at Barnston AFC saw City eager to avenge their last encounter with visitors East Thurrock which they lost 7 – 0.

Thurrock made a good start by taking a 2 – 0 lead inside the first insid the first 10 minutes.  The play then began to open uo and City were looking more positive in their play.

Emma Ridings had a good shot creep just wide, and Lisa Foakes reduced the arrears when her snap shoot looked to have been saved by the goalkeeper, but she took her eye off the ball, and it crept through her legs and into the net.

The second half was looking good for City with Judith Duffin, back from injury, making a good impression on the right with some excellent attacking runs.

Duffin made an excellent run from the halfway line through the entire Thurrock side with only the goal keeper to beat but her shot struck the foot of the post.

With 15 minutes left, the visitors netted to claim all three points with two of City’s defenders feeling they had been fouled.
