Thanks to some sterling work from our ‘in house’ groundsmen due to the bad weather, the game eventually went ahead on a very wet surface.

Charlotte Barnard led the team out in a game which was never going to be a classic due to the conditions but Chelmsford went at their opponents from the start. Ashton Payne and Barnard were giving their opponents defence a torrid time on either wing and both where rewarded with assists for Sophie Vale who added another 2 goals to her tally for the season within the opening five minutes.

  LTD, not to be out done, battled back in awful conditions and pulled one back before the end of the first half with a ball into the box being diverted into the net.

  The second half was a battling performance from City who had to defend really well against a team who where pushing for an equaliser. Chelmsford held firm until the end to run out winners in a well fought game.
