Brentwood Town 0 Chelmsford City 3

Sunday 21st September 2008, Brentwood Centre, Doddinghurst Road, Brentwood, Kick Off 12.30pm, Essex County Girls League Under 11 Division.

 

  On a glorious sunny day Chelmsford started there first season with an emphatic win with Sophie Vale netting a hat-trick.

  Vale opened the scoring after only 5 minutes with a well taken goal after some good attacking football from Chelmsford during the opening stages. City continued to attack and where rewarded with a cracking second goal, again from Vale following great work on the right by Charlotte Barnard.

  Brentwood then started to find there feet and started to attack themselves but came up against a determined defence of Gaby Hill and Melanie Woodward. Anna Copping and Maddy Twaite sharing the role of holding midfielder added extra cover when being attacked saw City hold firm.

  After some good strong work from Barnard on the right, her good cross was met by Vale with a thunderous volley to complete her hat- trick as the half came to a close.

  The second half saw Brentwood come out determined and more organized and starting to give Chelmsford some problems, however Chelmsford contained them with some good wing play from Ashton Payne and Melissa Burton who worked tirelessly all game.

  The heat started to take its toll on all the girls as the match came to a close with Chelmsford deserved winners.

  Aimee Turner was awarded player of the match for her solid performance in defence and will Captain the team this Sunday at home to Gallow Utd at Marconi Leisure, kick off 12.00 midday.
