On a lovely sunny afternoon Aimee Turner led Chelmsford to another three points from their home fixture with Brentwood Town in a well contested game with both teams battling well.
Chelmsford started slowly but began to find their feet and Charlotte Barnard opened the scoring for City with a well taken goal. This was the kick start that Chelmsford needed as they continued to dominate and Sophie Vale extended their lead with a blistering shot. Chances came and went and at half time City led two goals to nil.
After some half time changes, Chelmsford continued to push forward and where eventually rewarded for their efforts with a second goal from Vale after some good work on the left from Ashton to make it 3-0.
City’s defence had yet another solid game through out keeping another clean sheet and looking a very solid unit.
The game continued to be played in a good sporting manner by both teams with Chelmsford running out 3-0 winners.
The ‘Player of the Match’ award went to Ashton Payne for her tireless display on the left of midfield and will now lea the team out this Sunday at home to Hutton.
