Gallow
United 1 Chelmsford City 9
Sunday 16th November 2008, Beehive School, Beehive Lane, Chelmsford.
Kick Off 10.00am, Essex County Girls League Under 11 Eastern Division.
Chelmsford City maintained their 100% record with a fine victory on Sunday morning, Sophie Vale and Charlotte Barnard netting four goals a piece.
City attacked from the start but where frustrated by Gallow getting bodies behind the ball, preventing City playing their usual flowing football.
Barnard opened the scoring after a good run to make it 1-0 which was then followed by another 2 quick goals, a second Barnard and 1 from Vale which saw a three goal lead at the break.
The second half saw City pile on the pressure with some excellent wing play from Ashton Payne who set up another couple of goals for Vale and Barnard and was unlucky not to have one herself after a great run. Melissa Burton was having yet another great game with a battling performance in the centre of midfield.
Gallow’s consolation was a good strike from the edge of the box that flew into the top corner but City had completely dominated the game. The Player of the Match was awarded to City’s Charlotte Barnard for her great play on the right wing and she will now Captain the side this Sunday at home to Lt Thurrock Dynamos at Marconi Leisure, West Hanningfield Road.
