Sunday 26^th April 2009 at Shenfield School, kick-off 10.30am. Essex County Girls League Under-13 Division A.
  This was a match that will not live long in the memory of Chelmsford City’s under-13’s who endured a nightmare start, finding themselves four goals adrift with just 23 minutes played. Far too many players had an off-day against a very slick and pacy Hutton side who took full advantage of every gift that came their way. The visitors did briefly threaten to claw their way back with both Leanne Miles and Jennifer Baldock seeing shots well saved.

  Hutton were soon back in control though, netting two further goals early in the second-half. The only real bright spot of the game for City arrived in the latter stages when Sophie Dorrington cleverly beat her marker before cutting into the area and unleashing a magnificent angled shot into the top corner.

  However, it was to be just a consolation, with City thankful to ‘Girl of the Match’ Christie Lucking whose fine goalkeeping helped avoid an even heavier defeat.
