Chelmsford City 'Storm' U13's.

Player Profiles. 

Chloe Pearce - Goalkeeper.

Chloe joined the team at the beginning of the 2006/07 season, having previously played for Beech Utd. She has been a brilliant acquisition for the side and saved us on many occasions last year. A fantastic shot stopper, Chloe is also brave/mad and will happily dive in where boots are flying. Chloe's performance last season resulted in her receiving the 'Parent's Player' of the year award.

Katie Mowle - Right Back.

Katie is a founder member of the side, having previously been part of the Focus Ferrers Development  and U12 sides. Katie was somewhat tentative at first and would rarely leave the edge of the box. She has developed massively over the past couple of seasons and now possesses the most crunching tackle on the team. She reads opponents very well and rarely lets anyone past. She times tackles to perfection and has never committed a foul.

Shannon Jones - Centre half (Captain).

Shannon is a founder member of the side, having previously been part of the Focus Ferrers Development  and U12 sides. Although playing as first choice centre half, she is equally comfortable in any position (other than goalkeeper!). Shannon has developed into a real ball-playing footballer. She is strong in the tackle and also hits a pretty mean dead ball.

Natasha Brooks - Left Back

'Tash' is also an original member from the Focus Ferrers days. She has improved massively (particularly over the last season) and her confidence has risen as a result. Tash makes up for her lack of pace with excellent thinking. Possibly the best reader of the game in the side.

Katie Malyon - Defender/Midfield

Katie joined the side at the end of last season, having only ever played for her school team. She is still learning the game, but always plays with great enthusiasm. Katie is not afraid to put a tackle in and is always a real pain to opposing players.

Kirsty Day - Midfield

Kirsty joined the side at the end of the 2004/05 season, after being spotted playing against us in a friendly against a school side. She is not physically as imposing as other girls in the team but she tackles and hassles just as hard. Kirsty has an amazing engine and will run all day for the team. A real 'box to box' midfielder who is strong in the air and weighs in with her fair share of goals. Kirsty is our current 'Manager's Player' of the season.

Rebecca May - Midfield/Striker.

Rebecca joined 'Storm' at the start of the season having currently starred for the now defunct Valley Green Belles. She is a very confident player who makes the hard things look simple. Rebecca has already started to form a good understanding with Chelsea Clarke which we are sure will result in many goals.

Paige Wilson - Midfield

Paige is possibly our most naturally able player and has been with us since day one. She suffers a little with nerves and often takes 10 minutes to get into gear, when she is then capable of some very strong runs. She had a slow start last season, but once she got a goal, she couldn't stop! This resulted in her being last season's 'most improved' player.

Let's hope she continues to grow in confidence as she is sorely missed when she's not on her game.

Rebecca Wade - Midfield

Along with Paige Wilson, Rebecca (Bex) forms the other half of the team's double act. Also with us since the very first day, Bex is naturally left footed and provides a good balance to the side. She can often be seen tying opposing defenders in knots, before performing her party piece - an extra touch, hence the management's nickname for her 'One more' Wade. Bex is a great player who is similar in style to Kirsty Day. Hopefully she'll find consistency this year to get the goals her performances deserve.

Nicole Allen - Midfield/Striker

Nicole has been with 'Storm' since the beginning of last season. She is equally able with both feet and is not afraid to try her luck from distance with most of her efforts on target.  Nicole is good in the air and possesses lightning pace which should get us loads of goals once she gets to grips with the off-side rule.

Victoria Tysall - Midfield

Victoria joined us mid-way through last season. Unfortunately she missed the registration deadline, but showed a huge commitment by coming to every game to support the team. Victoria has bundles of energy, and performed well in friendly games. With a little more luck and continued effort to learn the game, she will break her scoring duck soon.

Chelsea Clarke - Striker

Chelsea originally joined us as a goalkeeper and put in some amazing performances before fancying a go at the other end. She is a strong player who holds the ball up well and brings other girls into the game. When Chelsea takes throw-ins it's as good as being awarded a free kick! Chelsea finished last season with 23 league and cup goals, receiving our golden boot award.

Ellie Brown - Defender/Midfield.

Ellie originally played for the Focus Ferrers girls' sides before moving to Chelmsford City. She was keen to maintain links with our team and was dual registered for last season, playing in different leagues. She currently represents both Chelmsford Under 13 sides. Ellie is a very versatile player who always gives her best to the team. Skilful and intelligent, she is really missed when not available for the 'Storm'.
