Game 1

WEST HAM UNITED 1 CHELMSFORD CITY 0

Game 2

CHELMSFORD CITY 0 WEST HAM UNITED 4

Played at Marconi Leisure, Kick Off 2.00pm.

Chelmsford City came out of this double header with great credit after making high-flying West Ham United battle all the way before they could claim the points.

Indeed, City were very unfortunate to lose the first game, with the decisive goal being down to a poor defensive clearance in what was otherwise a polished performance. Despite not having a great record against the Hammers there was plenty of positive football from City, although it was West Ham who created the clearer chances.

It looked like being a similar story in the second game with a scrappy goal opening the scoring. Chelmsford's Christie Lucking then produced an incredible fingertip save onto the bar to keep her team in the match. Shortly after half-time a West Ham forward was allowed a free header from a corner to double their lead, and two soon became three following a penalty. The scoring was then completed in the latter stages to give the visitors what was eventually a comfortable victory.
