Chelmsford City 1 Clacton Athletic 2 (after extra time)

Sunday 9^th November 2008. Marconi Leisure, West Hanningfield Road. Kick Off 2pm. Essex County Girls League Under 14 League Cup 1^st Round.

A terrific flowing game of end to end football saw Clacton net a goal two minutes from the end of extra time to claim a place in the next round.

  Inez Hockaday looked to have given City an early lead but the referee disallowed the goal for an infringement as both teams played good attacking. It looked as though City were the most likely to score but in fact Clacton took the lead midway through the second half direct from a corner which squeezed in at the near post.

  City kept battling hard and equalised with five minutes left through a well worked goal by Nicole Parish.

  Extra time could not separate the two teams and with penalties looming, Clacton netted the all important winner to send them through in the dying minutes.
